Gets all available northerly swell and can work even on cross shore winds. Good clean water and very quiet.

Clean clear water with good longboard waves and has a caravan park at Haggerston castle. I have surfed here regularly over the years. It is very uncrowded with very quiet beautiful beaches. Well worth a look, keep searching!

Bamburgh is the break I surf and is my favourite spot. The waves aren't always good but it's the atmosphere that makes the place. There's nothing like watching the sunset over Holy Island while the stars come out, or surfing on a full moon with the castle lit up behind you. The local surfers are always chatty and friendly.

I got there late afternoon, just in time for high tide. I surfed until the sun went down with the castle behind us. Spectacular! Keep looking, and you'll find some class beaches. The breaks, beaches, town, and locals are great. I'll be going for some more.
