A fantastic right hander that can be quite hollow and well over head high. There can be a strong rip which can cause problems but the rocks in front are the major problem. Only experienced surfers should try this wave.
Ross Hawkins, Llanelli
It s a great right-hander but is only for advanced surfers. It has a great bowl shape and can pick up just as much swell as Llangennith. A great wave but leave it to the local experienced surfers like me.
Ebby, Swansea
It is a lush right-hander, which will sometimes tube and can get swell bigger than Llangennith at times. Great break.
Paul Strick, Swansea
Not a bad break when there is swell. A neat right hander but you need to turn right sharply at the take off (which I can’t do).
Tomas Martins, Swansea
One of the best waves when head high or bigger shame about the way its been infultrated with non respecting students.
Jason, Swansea
It is a really a fun right hander but i don't think at all it is a wave for experienced surfers. I think it's the opposite, beginners like Ebby would enjoy this spot, and J-bay, Safi, Kirra are waves for experiences surfers.
Mike, Gower
Bodyboarders - this is the closest you will get to Shark Island. Go late and deep to earn respect from the locals/standups. Otherwise stay well back. It's an all-or-nothing wave that punishes the hesitant.
Jono, Swansea
Crab is the amphitheatre of Gower surfing, the bigger it gets the smaller the crowd. It's a good honest wave with a core bunch of locals. Take off deep or don't get a wave.
Simon Jayham, Caswell Bay
I have surfed it at head height when 'Gennith was flat and the Langland boys missed it. When the crowds are out, go deep.
Paul, Swansea
On its day it is a world class wave. It used to be a locals only wave with no groms and invitation only. Still a hardcore of locals both young and old but sadly over the years it has been infultrated by students, many who can't surf and cause havoc, and should be in Caswell!!
